2020 Lexus LC Trim Level Comparison 

There are only two models of the 2020 Lexus LC: the LC 500 and the LC 500h. The “h” in LC 500h denotes that it is a hybrid trim level, which means that it can regenerate and store extra energy as you drive, helping to improve fuel economy. The hybrid power-train marks the biggest difference between the trim levels, but we’ll go over more differences below. 2020 Lexus LC trim levels – engine type 

As we mentioned above, the starkest difference between the two trim levels is their power sources, which includes their engines. The LC 500 comes with a powerful 5 L V8 engine that runs solely on gasoline. It also comes with a standard Active Sport Exhaust, not available on the LC 500h. The Active Sport Exhaust is designed to improve the engine sound by tuning engine components. 

The LC 500h trim level features a 3.5 L V6 engine. This engine helps the LC 500h attain its Certified Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV III) status. This rating puts it above the LC 500 in terms of being eco-friendly. 

2020 Lexus LC trim levels – starting price 

Despite being similar trim levels, there is a difference in starting price which we will explain. The LC 500 starts out at $92,950, and the LC 500h starts out at $97,510. This difference of $4,560 is due to the LC 500h having extra components that make it more expensive. Extra components refer to its more complex power-train with its high-output, permanent-magnet, electric-drive motor.  

On the other hand, the LC 500h can save you money at the gas station. Depending on how long you plan on keeping this vehicle and how much you drive, you can calculate whether the money saved in fuel would change your mind. The LC 500h gets about 10 more miles per gallon of gas. 

2020 Lexus LC trim levels – performance ratings 

The performance ratings of the 2020 Lexus LX are directly related to its engine and power-train. The LC 500h has a combined system, with a motor and an engine, and has thus been rated for total system horsepower. It gets a commendable 354 horsepower rating.  

Overall, the LC 500 trim level has better performance ratings. For horsepower, it is rated at 471 hp. For torque, the LC 500 is rated at 398 pound-feet at 4,800 rpm. The LC 500h does not have an available torque rating.
